Brief

Customer wanted to future proof their home and add a new master suite to the existing loft space of their house and free up space on the first floor. The original roof was a hip and this was changed to a gable to create a whole new top floor. We were also asked to provide a new solar scheme and redecorations to the other areas of the home. The new proposed loft conversion and dormer were a detailed architecturally designed flat roof dormer with hanging tiles to match the roof and new Steel cladded window detailing to create a sleek modern looking dormer. 

Description

This project consisted of the addition of a Dorma alongside a loft extension, to add a new storey to the house. as well as the installation of solar panels & full decorations. The project started by completely stripping back the existing roof. The existing roof tiles were kept to the side to re-use them on the new dormer & roof as they were in good condition. Structural work was next, where new padstones were installed for the steels to be put in place to support the new second floor deck. The new block work was matched as close as possible to the existing Bath stone on the house for that seamless look. The roof was fully framed out, so the internal lay out was stating to take shape. Then Jackso & dix roofers came in to complete the new roof. The new staircase was measured out & ordered to connect the first & second floor. The solar panels were installed on the front of the roof, for that new battery ready solar system, giving the client the option for. A battery in the future. Internally, the decorating began & new doors were hung. To finish off all the final decorations were wrapped up & new carpets laid. This project began in November 2025 and was handed back over to the client in May 2026.
