Description
This project involved opening up the existing kitchen and utility areas to create a generous and flexible family living space, formed as part of a new wrap-around extension. The brief was to transform a series of darker, enclosed rooms into a single light-filled environment that connects seamlessly with the rest of the home.
The design incorporated an existing courtyard into the new extension, allowing the internal layout to wrap around and make better use of the available footprint. New rooflights were installed alongside new rear doors, flooding the space with natural light and creating strong visual and physical connections to the garden.
Insulation was upgraded throughout the newly formed areas to improve energy efficiency and year-round comfort. Electrical and plumbing systems were also upgraded to suit the new layout and future use of the space.
The works were completed with new plastering throughout, leaving the new areas prepared and ready for the client to carry out their chosen final finishes. The result is a bright, well-proportioned family space with strong foundations for a high-quality final fit-out.
